Job Description

  • Sous Chef 

    Here at Atai Bistro our kitchen is focused on celebrating quintessential Moroccan Flavours with classic French cooking techniques. Our menu offers a creative and contemporary take on authentic dishes with wide selections of the freshest ingredients made into a variety of mezze dishes, flatbreads, brochettes, and tagines.

    A Sous Chef will work closely with the Chef de Cuisine to manage all aspects of the kitchen, creating a team environment and delivering consistent quality dishes to ensure our guests experience is exceptional.

    Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

    • Manage all aspects of the kitchen including operations, quality control, presentation, health & safety and daily job assignments of the team inclusive with assigned administrative functions.
    • Manage the day to day operations of the kitchen, receiving goods, ordering product, etc., in the absence of the CDC
    • Apply interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others while advocating sound financial/business decision making and demonstrate honesty/integrity with leading by example
    • Prepares and cooks foods of all types using various methods to the highest standard
    • Ability to work/maintain any and all stations when needed

    Qualification:

    • 3-5 years in a similar role in a scratch kitchen
    • Demonstrated awareness of and interest in current culinary trends in the marketplace
    • Operations management experience in a high volume establishment
    • Ability to multi-task, remain cool and keep up in a fast paced environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication experience, both verbal & written
    • Excellent organizational skills, with timely delivery of all required administrative work
    • Flexible to work evenings and weekends and holidays
