Job Description

  • Foam Solutions Inc. is a well established manufacturing company, conveniently located in Markham just off Hwy 404. FSI is in need of an Accounting Assistant to join its administration team. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a friendly and team oriented group.

    The Accounting Assistant provides support in all areas of financial and management accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting and costing.

    KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    *Accounts payable processing including matching, coding, data entry, aging review, expense reporting.

    *Respond to vendor inquiries and verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

    *Assist with Accounts Receivable: invoicing, customer credit applications, aging review, contacting customers with overdue accounts, reconciliation.

    *Identify and resolve pricing and quantity discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor invoices.

    *Provides support with inventory records, bill of materials, production records, price variances.

    *Assist with year-end procedures and audits.

    *Provides support on other aspects of accounting services as required.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    *Diploma/Degree in Accounting is an asset

    *Working knowledge of accounting and computer systems with 2-5 years experience in an A/P or A/R

    *Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)

    *SAP experience an asset

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    *Intermediate Excel (v-lookup, pivot table) skills

    *Excellent communication and written skills

    *Strong organizational and time management skills

    *High attention to detail, critical thinking and problem solving skills

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $46,000.00 per year
