Job Description

  • JOB DESCRIPTION – PRODUCT ENGINEERHABCO Manufacturing specializes in producing award-winning, commercial refrigeration appliances. Our research and development has powered some of the industry’s most significant technological advances and many industry firsts, including being the first to envision, design and produce removable Cassette® refrigeration.

    We are currently looking for an experienced Product Engineer to join our team at our North York location.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Project coordinator in the integration of all new products from concept design to final implementation through continuous support to all cross-functional departments
    • Generate, review and approve engineering documents, and GD&T 3D/2D drawings through use of Inventor, AutoCAD. Sheet metal experience is a requisite
    • Communicate with suppliers to obtain cost estimates and standard agencies (NSF, UL, NAMA, ISO) to obtain industry certifications
    • Accurately test and evaluate effectiveness of products
    • Perform product cost analysis, create bills of materials and generate engineering change notices
    • Participate in the creation of operator manuals and sales literature as needed
    • Optimize and manage the ISO 9001 quality management system processes and seek continuous improvement
    • Manage NSF approvals for new and existing products as well as associated audits and keep up to date with the standards
    • Create detailed documentation including wiring diagrams for internal and external customers
    • Work with production to create prototypes and troubleshoot any assembly issues
    • Efficient solve electrical and mechanical problems with production products internally and externally
    • Support Sales, Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing and Service to ensure HABCO provides the best and most efficient product lines
    • Research new development ideas and technology

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5 years’ experience as a product engineer
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong understanding of BOM including time studies
    • Knowledge of sheet metal cutting and bending processes
    • Electrical background is an asset
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
    • Experience championing external and internal audits
    • Strong team player
    • High emotional intelligence
    • Strong CAD skills
    • Excellent at office suite products
    • Experience with ERP systems; experience with Visual is an asset
    • Process development
    • P.Eng. certification as asset

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Salary: From $10.00 per year
