Job Description

Loungeworks Inc (a division of Chair-man Mills Inc) is a Vancouver-based event services company that provides short-term furniture rentals, full design services, and event production to corporate and private clients in a variety of industries. Delivery Crew Lead and Driver

We are looking for the right candidates to join our roster of dedicated professionals looking for an exciting entrance into the Vancouver event industry. Due to the nature of the events industry, this position works variable hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Professionally lead crew in distribution of furniture throughout event site.
  • Drive trucks ranging from 3-ton trucks to 5-ton trucks.
  • Client forward presentation in discussing and troubleshooting issues on site with client.
  • Liaising between Logistics Team and client when on site to keep team up to date.
  • Safely loading and unloading furniture from trucks.
  • On-site installation of furniture according to floor plans/client direction.
  • Checking cleanliness of furniture and spot-cleaning as necessary.
  • Punctual delivery with the ability to work under a tight deadline.

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift or carry items up to 60lbs.
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and can show initiative.
  • Knowledge and ability to adhere to workplace safety precautions.
  • Basic smartphone and computer skills.
  • CSA approved steel toe shoes/boots.

Preferred assets:

  • Experience in the special events, film, trade show or hospitality industries.
  • Experience as a residential or commercial mover.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, with a clean driver’s abstract (30 days or newer).
  • Knowledge of local venues including hotels, convention centres, loading docks, etc.
  • (Bonus) Airbrake Endorsement certification.

Job Types: Permanent, Casual

Salary: $23.00-$26.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift

  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

      • delivery driving: 1 year (preferred)
