Reports to: Senior Financial Analyst

Job Purpose

The Junior accountant is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and reconciling reports. They will supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of central finance group, assist with processing receivables, as well as, providing support to management in the finance department.

Duties and responsibilities:
For the Network Innovations Group be the junior for reporting to central finance and Networks Group

• Generate monthly airtime validation reports for all providers in the Network Innovations Group. * Compare the month gross margin results. * Identify significant findings and variances; and, *Communicate findings and escalate to business units for investigation.
• Help with full cycle account receivable processes for certain entities.
• Generate and processing customer invoices.
• Produce sales project progress reports to Networks business unit management.
• Prepares accruals, and general ledger and account reconciliations.
• Develop various reports using substantial amounts of data from various sources.
• Perform journal entries and month-end bank reconciliations for central finance.
• Assist senior financial analyst with year-end review.
• Anticipate what will be required beyond routine duties.
• Executing other related duties and partaking in special adhoc projects as requested.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience relevant experience
• Ability to demonstrate application of accounting concepts and knowledge of accounting principles
• Advanced Microsoft excel capabilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to process information with utmost confidentiality
• Desire to thrive in a team-based environment
• Capability to work independently on tasks

Working conditions:

This position operates in a professional office environment, and it is expected that the incumbent work in the Calgary office during normal office hours. The incumbent is expected to work from the Calgary office a minimum of three days a week. At certain times, this position may require the incumbent to work extended hours to ensure that deadlines are meet and it is expected that whatever hours are required, within reason, will be invested to ensure that the responsibilities of the position are fulfilled, and the deadline met.

Physical requirements:

Standard office requirements. This position requires the individual to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
