Job Description

    Established in 2014, Plazo Construction Corporation is a growing exterior façade company specializing in various building envelope applications for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects. Plazo focuses on the design, fabrication and installation of various exterior assemblies such as architectural panels and curtain walls.

    Title: Building Envelope Estimator

    Plazo Construction Corporation is presently accepting resumes for a Building Envelope/Exterior Cladding Estimator position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Bid Administration
    • Review bid opportunities and advise on the selection of bids to pursue.
    • Analyze, review, and comprehend architectural drawings, specs and details.
    • Develop RFI’s and send clarifications to the consultant/owner (if any)
    • Prepare takeoffs/estimates of costs of materials, labour and equipment.
    • Obtain material quotations.
    • Prepare and maintain a directory of product suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Prepare price sheet and quotation.
    • Consistently follow up on submitted bids with Architect and/or General Contractor to secure construction contract.
    • Act as estimator/project coordinator to make sure projects are running smoothly.
    • Review drawings with Project Manager and highlight areas of concern.
    • Understand contractual terms and conditions.
    • Work is generally in the office, but some field coordination is often required.

    Qualifications:

    • Estimating experience in the Curtain Wall, glazing, doors/windows and building exterior cladding industry. (Minimum 3 years)
    • Strong computer skills including, MS Office, AutoCad and Planswift. (Computerized estimating systems)
    • Proper scheduling of purchases and work.
    • Have good oral & written communication skills.
    • Strong negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure.
    • Must be punctual and reliable.
    • Must have good time management, multitasking and stress management skills.

    Salary:

    Salary is negotiable depending on the proven experience and knowledge you can bring to the business.

    Location:

    Toronto

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Salary: $55,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

    Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday

    Experience:
